Some of you lot know that JEMS recorded the 2001 Notre Dame webcast direct from the satellite feed. I posted that sound a couple years ago and the response seemed to be positive in that it was considered the all-time version yet to circulate (oddly, a webcast-sourced version was posted to U2T a few months ago that some preferred even as the capture, by its very nature, should be junior. Not throwing stones, I simply don't understand how a directly capture from a satellite receiver could be inferior to a webcast downstream of the aforementioned source given the state of broadband in 2001).
While we were not able to capture live video ourselves, live video was recorded from the satellite though not of the multi-camera feed. From what I was told, this was because the feeds were coming through in PAL every bit that was the video system U2 employed on the road, merely the then-called Bono-cam was NTSC and that feed was recorded. Now I honestly don't call up to what tape format the Booncam was captured (it was about probable Betacam), just well after the fact, JEMS was able to borrow and dub those pro tapes to what was the all-time format nosotros could put our hands onto on short notice, Digital 8.
This DVD is the first time those Digital 8 tapes (three of them) have been transferred and circulated. Our expert friend KS did the authoring and the syncing to the DAT sound source. He has done bang-up work in the by and this one is no exception. He felt the quality was potent plenty to author as a dual-layer DVD which will annoy some of you merely at this point dual-layer burners are pretty common. This will be the simply version.
Now, the existent question is, is this improve than what's circulating? I know at least 1 other satellite capture was made of the Bono-cam and information technology has always been my presumption that it was the source for all the copies in circulation. I have compared ours to the screen grabs at Achtung Bootlegs and it does appear to be an upgrade. The colors aren't as washed out (await at the greenish of Bono's guitar). The motion picture edges are more divers (read the discussion "Security" on the jackets most b-stage), and the audio should be an improvement. I have attached screen grabs of the menus and a few other frames to help guide you.

Wellcome to second DETOUR concert in Spain. This is the 2d of three. This show was very nice too, but Elvis has some problems with his vocalism in a different points of the show.Merely, nothing important. As usual he inverse some of the songs from the Zaragoza prove. He play likewise Alison a capella walking arround the venue. He explain that he was at the McCartney show three days earlier in Vicente Calderon Stadium in Madrid. I know that Elvis arrived at the venue at 17 h more or less because I see the van exterior of the venue with the warning lights. This venue is a old Cinema in the Atocha Street and theres no backstage door. His outfits arrived from the laundry past taxi at 17.20 . After expect for some time ouside I decided go back to the hotel because information technology was very hot twenty-four hour period.I'll be back at the venue at 19.45 and I talk a little with the guy who sold the merchandising near the tour and after that I go in to talk with the mixing desk tech.Who explain me that they liked very much the show who do in Zaragoza the last night.I enquire him for the set listing and he promis to give 1. The venue is and old cienema converted in a music theatre but twowers of ligts that he used in Zaragoza this time are non on the bear witness. But the ilumination was nice too. Elvis say that the piano he use on these bout it's from she's married woman and she give them for that tour with the condition that he get dorsum home condom. Equally usual on this tour they explain some of the songs before to sing.

Information technology's keen getting a take chances to see Ted play then many of the old classics - and especially with the original vocaliser Derek St. Holmes singing them. This looks and sounds like it could be an in-house feed to the large screen shot considering at that place is very petty crowd noise heard between songs.

This DVD contains 2 pro-shot recording broadcasts of the same source, with some differences.
Ane is from Eastward! TV and has an incomplete, edited version of "Abode"; it is missing approximately 30 seconds of the outro to the song. Other than that, it is a consummate recording. It has better sound than the MTV version. It is 29:01 in length. This VHS also has two interviews with Dave and Andy approximately 17 minutes in length each. This DVD only has Dave'southward interview. One of my torrents on DIME has both interviews; encounter below for a link. The other recording is from MTV and is a complete recording. It has worse audio than the East! version, but it is still quite skillful. "Never Let Me Down Again" ends abruptly and misses a few of Dave'south parting lines (simply no music), "I guess we'll see you adjacent fourth dimension, thanks for coming, goodnight". It is 29:37 in length. Both versions have similar video quality; see sample screenshots.
